Bot - Where is the subscriber from?

blog

The first post will be dedicated to a project that was launched half a year ago and has not yet been promoted in any way.
This is a bot for telegram channels - Where is the subscriber from?

🤔 What is it for?
In the bot you can create links to the channel, to which you can add UTM tags (describing the data of your advertising), the post to which to lead a potential subscriber (to interest, not just direct to the end of the channel) and other information that allows after subscribing, to understand from what source of traffic came subscriber.

⚙️ How does it work?
1. Add the bot to your channel as an admin with the only permission "invite links"
2. Create in the bot for your channel the required number of links and add data to them (UTM tags, tag, post number).
3. Place links in the advertising integration, in your profile, in other social networks, anywhere.
4. Statistics have started to be collected. The data can be viewed for the last 24 hours via a command in the bot menu and every morning comes a message in the form of a summary report for the past 24 hours.

🌟 Advantages?
The usual invitation link of telegram will show only the number of subscriptions, and socTrack link, in addition to subscriptions, will show how many clicks to the channel, from where and when. This additional information can save you money when buying ads.

In addition, the bot collects separately information on subscriptions via telegram invitations, which are created manually not through the bot and on subscriptions without links.

💎 The highlight of the service is available only in the full version of the bot, it is a report on the channel with all the data and graphs in an individual google table. Here you can view detailed information on each subscriber, each transition and each link.

🎁 New users: for the first added channel 30 days of full access, for all subsequent channels 7 days.

Let's consider the basic functionality.

As soon as the channel is connected to the bot and the bot is added to the channel, statistics on all new subscriptions/unsubscribes starts to be collected.

If you need more details and you advertise or "pour" subscribers from other social networks, you need to create special links and use them instead of a direct link to the channel.

How to create a socTrack invitation link?

To do this, just select the Invitation Links item in the Bot Menu.
Then, if you have two or more channels connected, select the desired one and click Create.
Enter the name of the link - it is necessary to choose a short and precise, so that at a glance it was clear the source (the name of the link will be displayed in all reports).
Then, if you wish, add different labels, especially if you plan to use one link for different traffic sources (later you can work with this data in the main report in the table).
If you have links for one source, we recommend to make the tags hidden, so the link will be shorter and look more attractive.

Every morning the bot sends a report on subscriptions for the previous 24 hours.
You can also view the statistics for the last 24 hours by opening the Menu and clicking: Statistics for the last 24 hours.

Adding a channel.

After launching the bot sends a greeting with the Add Channel button, we press it and get instructions, namely:
Add the bot @socTrackbot to the channel as an admin, with the permission to Invite users with a link
If the bot is already added, send a link to the channel here or forward any post from the channel.

There are three possible options for adding a channel.
If the channel has never been added to a bot before:
- option 1, the easiest way is to click in the text of a post in the bot: "channel as admin" and in the list select the desired channel, then select the permission and click Add Admin.
- Option 2, start the bot, then add it to the desired channel as an administrator. The bot will receive a message that the channel is successfully connected.

If the bot was previously an admin, but for some reason was deleted. Or the bot is added to the channel, but it is not in the list of added channels.
Click the Add Channel button or the /add_channel command from the menu.

Further, if the channel is public, we just send a link to the channel (example: https://t.me/oneDayStep), a link to a post from the channel or forward some post. Then we will receive a message that the channel is successfully connected.

If the channel is closed, the only option is to forward any post from the channel.

So, if you have a Telegram channel and want to keep control over your traffic sources - join and let's improve the service together.
